I take the exam at 11:00 a.m. tomorrow. I've studied for it. I've prepared for it. I've read a lot of books. I feel good about it, but I would like to hear any last minute tips you might have.
For example: what is the order of the test (general knowledge first, writing first, etc..?)
I plan to review a few broad concepts in the morning, should I do something else?
Is there a timer on the screen that let's me know how much time is left?
Any recommendation on what I should wear?
Any other information about the test format you have or test taking strategies you would like to share would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
:-)I take the Foreign Service Exam tomorrow, any last minute advice?
I have never taken that test, so first of all -- wish you all the best.
just in case, bring your own watch
get a great sleep
do not study in the morning, but do read something to warm up
wear something you are comfortable in, something that's clean and nice looking. dress in layers, so that you could adjust to the room temperature (that's just a suggestion, taken from personal experience).
Strategies?.. hmm.. Pray :)

Student lawn care service, would someone give me some advice?
Hi there,
With spring here and summer fast approaching I was thinking about starting a simple lawn care service in my neighborhood.
I already have my own lawn mower and edge trimmer so I won't need to buy any of that.
What I would like to know is how much I should charge. I want to charge a relatively cheap price, as I am a student, but still make some money.
I was thinking a certain price for:
Small Lawn: ???
Middle Sized Lawn: ???
Large Lawn: ???
Weed Lawn: ???
Any advice?
Thanks in advance!Student lawn care service, would someone give me some advice?
I would charge by the size of the yard, not by the hour as if you are efficient you can knock them out quickly. I think the going rate in my neighborhood is around $35 (I charge $2 when I was a kid). Single women are the best ones to approach but you will have a hard time getting new business now that the season has started, many people will have already hired someone. Do a good job and you can charge a premium, trim, don't leave grass on the driveway or walk and ask if they are satisfied with your work of if they would give you some advice how to improve it.
People don't mind paying a little more for good service. You may also want to look into dethatching yards. You could line up a few houses and rent a machine. You can charge big bucks for that but you will have to get rid of all the thatch you pull up, not an easy thing to dispose of.Student lawn care service, would someone give me some advice?
you should charge by the hour and for senior citizens give them a discount i have started a lawn service myself and i have found that the easiest way rather then charge by the yard i go 15 dollars an hour and seniors 10 dollars an hour...this way it counts for the labor and the fuel..

I would like some advice i was misquoted on a service for my car and am being threatened?
When I asked about a service for my 2 year old Renault Clio I was quoted 拢120- 拢150, however when I went to pick the car up the bill was 拢250 as the (to quote) ';parts on the car were difficult to get to';. I paid the first 拢150 as this was the maximum cast he had quoted me. I now owe him 拢100 he says but I can not afford (and don't want to) pay it as I don't think this is fair and very unprofessional and bad working practice. When I asked Renault what a service would have cost with them they said 拢200 which I would rather have had done with the manufacturer if I would have known it would be that much. Please give me some advice as he now is saying if I don't pay he will have to remove the parts from my car, thanks very muchI would like some advice i was misquoted on a service for my car and am being threatened?
If your quote was only verbal not written, there's not a whole lot you'll be able to do about it. However, for a written quote, they have to get approval from the owner of the car (you) to do work that exceeds their price quote. This approval then needs to be noted, dated, and signed (by the person obtaining your approval) on their work order. Because they failed to do so, you are not responsible for anything above the quoted price. As to whether or not they'll release the car to you with the parts still attached, you might want to see a lawyer about that.I would like some advice i was misquoted on a service for my car and am being threatened?
Then you tell him you will sue him for quoting you one price and charging another!!!

Can anyone give me advice about using an online dating service to meet women?
I'm having a tough time knowing if any of the girls I'm talking to online--I'm using eHarmony-- are really serious or not. I may be rushing things too. Initially, there seems to be interest then, after about a week, I usually ask for their phone number, and or AIM screen name, and I don't end up hearing from them again, and I usually either give up or email again, and after that no reply.
Is there some formula or unwritten rule that you can follow to tell if a girl really likes you in an online dating site? I also seem to blow it by being in a rush, how can i come off as not clingy, but interested too?Can anyone give me advice about using an online dating service to meet women?
most girls especcialy online think that you may be not worth there time or some kind of creeper (no offense) if you ask for their # so fast. Try not to rush it and the right girl wil come to you. There isnt a rule but to be yourself ! =] good luck !Can anyone give me advice about using an online dating service to meet women?
It's touchy.....I rush into it as well because i dont want to spend countless, day, weeks, months chatting over eharmony, match, plentyoffish email....it's stupid.
Not only that but you don't really get the feel for a person.
I need answers on this as well.
Good luck to you
Thanks for your answer to mine !!
i don't think there is but its probably best to wait more than a week before asking for their number
i come off as clingy too, its not a bad thing, it just shows that you want more than just a fling x
I guess you need to let them make that move. That would make me uncomfortable if a guy that I met online asked for my number and its only been about a week. You should probably give it more time.
Dont try to meet people off those dating sites. I know 2 women that get on there and all they do is meet the guy get bang banged and never hear from the guy again and they like it that way cuz they're 'loose'. So I guess what Im saying is if you wanna meet a woman to marry the internet is not the right place. Most of the people on those sites want one thing- some nookie. Same thing with myspace. If you wanna try these sites still just talk to the girl and just ask her if she would like to meet or talk on the phone after a few days of chatting. I dont know why they'd be scared away after all they are there to meet a mate so if they seem flakey, which most of those people are, just back off and find one thats not psycho. I reccomend going with some friends to a club or see if they have the match making things like on 40 year old virgin where you go meet singles and stuff in your town...
Ok, heres the thing. Im not sure about Eharmony, but my cousin works for another large dating site. I wont name names, but its another one you have to pay for. Her job is, get this, talking to people (yes girls too) and pretending to be interested. She sends them emails and answers theirs, but as soon as a number, alternate email address, or a messenger screen name is asked for, she has to back off. She told me there are even times when she creates a new profile and talks to the same men. Like I said, I cant say whether eharmony does this or not, but what you are describing sounds exactly like what she does. Here are some free websites----www.plentyoffish.com and www.bookofmatches.com. Good luck

My car was damaged while being towed but the towing service denies causing said damage...advice?
The car was locked and in gear and the e-brake engaged (i drive manual) and when i arrived at the impound lot my drivers side lock was GONE the stick was left in neutral and the e-brake was not engaged as i had left it. My car is no longer able to be locked, can i make the towing company pay for the damages, or can they be held responsible if my car is stolen due to its now lock-less drivers side door?My car was damaged while being towed but the towing service denies causing said damage...advice?
Good luck. They can say that's the condition it was in when they impounded it. Good luck proving it in a court of law. Why was the car impounded? My car was damaged while being towed but the towing service denies causing said damage...advice?
May be hard to prove , but talk to a lawyer . Never hurts to talk . The worst thing he can say is - no chance

I would like to start a youth service at my church...any advice?
I'm only 16 years old and I think I have some great ideas to get a youth service going but my church is super small with only a few kids so I was thinking about talking to my friends about starting our own service once a week or every other week and making it open to kids all over my city.....I feel that this is really bold and I'm a bit scared and don't know where to start but feel like I have to do this.....Any help?I would like to start a youth service at my church...any advice?
Please don't brainwash kids with that non-sense. It's ridiculous. please open a youth center for less fortunate kids. That's worth it and I promise that I will greatly respect you for doing so.
If you open a church, you'll be only spreading a lie to kids and make more kids dumb ... this is the worst thing you can ever do. Please don't do that ... for the humanity's sakeI would like to start a youth service at my church...any advice?

Talk to your pastor and get the official backing of your church.
1. Find some other kids that would be interested; get a commitment.
2. Contact your pastor %26amp; set up a time to talk to him (make sure you schedule something)
3. Go with 1-2 of your interested friends and ask for his help.
4. Find an adult to mentor the group, you just need a volunteer. Ask your pastor for a recommendation of someone to approach, or if he thinks it would be a good idea to make an announcement. A good pastor will be excited about youth wanting to do more. But just to be warned: An experienced pastor may be skeptical of your commitment. Expect this so it doesn't blindside you and hurt you.
5. If you don't get any help from your pastor and can't find a mentor, just do it yourselves.
Get a study guide and just do it. There are TONS of good study guides %26amp; devotional series out there, and you will be the best judge of what you and your friends would be interested in. If you need some ideas, contact me via the messaging system here and I'll check my bookshelf at home, I have a bunch of old ones to give you some ideas, I just can't recall the titles right now.
1 Tim 4:12 ';Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.';
Don't let the people here get you down, but don't feel sorry for them either. Just leave them be and don't expect them to pay you the same courtesy. That way you won't be disappointed.

Advice on secondment whilst on a service tenancy?
I started a 6 month secondment for the same local authority on 31/08/09, it is the intention for me to return to my substantive post at the end of the 6 months. In my service tenancy it states that any changes to rent must be given at least 4 weeks notice. I usually pay 50% rent and full heating, hot water %26amp; service charges. My employer has now given me 2 weeks notice that I will now have to pay the full rent whilst I am on secondment, any advice is appreciated, does this make me a secure tenant? Can they do this? Etc. Thanks
Advice for Small Business -- Quickbooks, Payroll Service and CPA questions?
My family owns a business with about 350 employees. I am in the process of firing our Acct Dept (all family members) -- bills are not being paid, bad attitudes in front of staff, etc.
I am trying to figure out how difficult it would be for me to step in and manage that Dept -- even if it is only temporarily.
We currently have a CPA firm (highly recommended and $$) and our payroll is process by an outside agency. Our company also has Quickbooks, but I don't think our Acct Dept is using it at all. They turned in an imcomplete and incorrect bill log to me that was made in Excel (probably right after I asked for it).
I would like to use Quickbooks and the CPA firm only. I'm questioning the need for the payroll processing firm considering that we have QB and the CPA.
Any advice?Advice for Small Business -- Quickbooks, Payroll Service and CPA questions?
Hi, I work at Intuit (maker of QuickBooks). Since you already have QuickBooks, we have payroll options that will integrate with QuickBooks if you'd like to process the payroll yourself. Here are our options (including video tutorials):
1. QuickBooks Basic Payroll: http://payroll.intuit.com/payroll_servic鈥?/a>
2. QuickBooks Enhanced Payroll (currently 30% off): http://payroll.intuit.com/payroll_servic鈥?/a>
Your CPA may also be familiar with these solutions so you could also ask him/her.
Hope this helps!

You managing, ok. You doing, a shipwreck waiting to happen. Have someone from your cpa firm do an audit of exactly where you are and where you are going. Remember, manage, not do. Stick with your payroll processing firm for right now, as that is most likely working.

Would women be interested in a service that gave her time, help, discounts, advice and more?
I was approach by a company wanting to know if I would be interested in a service that could provide me and my family with extra time, help with errands, discounts on tickets, shopping, and medication; advice, chat room with other couples, reminder service and more. Would other women be interested in this?Would women be interested in a service that gave her time, help, discounts, advice and more?
No,it's a fraudWould women be interested in a service that gave her time, help, discounts, advice and more?
No, unless it for free.
It would depend on how convenient it was to use and how dependable and resourceful the service was. I am personally a control freak when it comes to organizing my life and the lives of my family. I think I would have issues with trusting antoher person or group with taking charge or my life. It might be nice, but honestly I am extrodinarily skeptical!
I would depending on the cost and what they can actually do for me.

yes i have are you physically fit? healthy, can you work long hours including bank holidays christmas etc that is what you will be asked? good luck
Yes tell them you have a Burning desire to get this job, but don't confess to being a pyromaniac :)
Seriously good luck to you :)
Good luck! Getting the interview is half the battle!! Just be yourself and be sure to have certain examples of jobs you did available. Also, a lot of employers in this field are looking for teamwork related things, so have some examples of when you used teamwork.
Confidence
Don't smoke
The fire service is a worthwhile job but, there will be many hours of boredom when you are just sitting around waiting for something to happen.
sure,if your British have a lay-in instead of wasting your time.
Ex husband of 19 years is a Fire Chief. He has been to plenty of interviews (then shared with me, of course). Know your stuff! I would suggest that you answer each questions as thoroughly as possible without adding anything extra. Don't BS, if you don't know the answer say so. If you really know where you could find the answer you could tell them that. They like people who take the initiative to seek out answers to questions. Be truthful and confident in your abilities. Try to be politically correct in your responses and your demeanor. If the Panel that is interviewing you is low keyed mimic that demeanor. Don't be afraid to laugh at one of their jokes, but I wouldn't go on a joke telling spree just because they start it! Don't get too personal in your responses. Getting the interview is most of the work. Don't be too bummed if you don't get the job. Usually lots of people apply for these types of jobs and they only have so many openings. Get plenty of sleep. Good Luck!
P.S. Don't eat garlic the night before the interview!!! ;-)

What's the Best advice fr someone who's interested in An Online Dating Service?
So someone wants to meet someone and they want to sign up with an online dating service..what's the best site to join? What's the Best advice fr someone who's interested in An Online Dating Service?
I like okcupid.com
They're free, but they have this amazing matching system with all kinds of cool questions and fun quizzes. It is harder for people to be fake on there too, because there are so many questions. What's the Best advice fr someone who's interested in An Online Dating Service?
My best online dating advice is to proceed with caution!!!
ONLINE DATING. OH GOSH.da best advice 4 u 4 an online dating is DONT WASTE UR TIME
Well tell them a online dating service is the worst thing you can do belive me.One of my friends and they had to end up paying 1000 dollars. It never works out
I can't fully agree with Coolgal's answer. I myself have been to SEVERAL dating services, with just as little success as I have in The Real World Dating Game. I can't tell which reality is less successful. :P There really is no ';best'; dating service because they will ALL have their share of positive testimonials and praisals. Personally, I've only joined sites that don't require you to pay to take full advantage of their services (and those that don't tell you that you have to pay until AFTER you sign up seriously pisses me off). To me, paying for any dating service is no different than paying some pimp for one of his hoes, except you're more likely to get SOME success out of approaching the pimp. Why should you pay someone for the possibility that is there in real life? I've talked to countless women online and after a few e-mails, they just get bored and stop talking to me. If I can get that for free, why should I pay $50 a month for it? It's not like I CAN'T afford to pay for it, but I just don't see why I should have to. :P No matter what site you join, you will ALWAYS get more results if you e-mail the cute guy first. I don't know why, but for some reason you women out there insist that men will feel threatened if you approach THEM and not the other way around. :S Trust me, they'll LIKE it. *lol*

Any advice/suggestions on hotel etiquette, room-service, reception, front-office and house-keeping etiquette?
Dear sirs,
I am going to lecture on hotel etiquette, as well as room-service, house-keeping, front-office and reception etiquettes. I have collected some materials, however, I wish to get more ideas, advices and suggestions even expectations on that issues, to enrich it further.
I thank you very much in advance

Dear Mr. Bidarmaghz,
I love your question!
Front Desk / Front Office Etiqutte:
- Eye contact is a must.
- Always acknowledge your guest with a hello/good morning/good afternoon/etc. and a smile.
- Always say ';thank you';, ';please';, and ';you're welcome.';
- When a customer is waiting in line at the front desk, let them know someone will be with them momentarily.
- When you are available to see the next person in line, DO NOT say ';I can take whoever is next'; when it's obvious who's next in line. This drives me crazy!!Any advice/suggestions on hotel etiquette, room-service, reception, front-office and house-keeping etiquette?
Guests should always be given a warm welcome, and use the guest name whenever possible. The staff should always try to respond, if not anticipate guest needs. The staff should always respond positively to guest requests, and find solutions to guest issues. No one wants to hear, ';no, I'll try, I'll see if it's possible'; or ';I'll get back to you';. A guest wants to hear, ';certainly, of course, it will be my pleasure.';

I received a call from a recovery service for a debt in 1987. It was dismissed in a 1990 bankruptcy?Any Advice
Try to get as much information as you can (their name, the agency they work for and who they are collecting for) then advise them they are trying to collect a debt that was discharged in bankruptcy. Just keep a log of every time they contact you, then your attorney will have more documented statements if they were to file a lawsuit against the creditor.I received a call from a recovery service for a debt in 1987. It was dismissed in a 1990 bankruptcy?Any Advice
Creditors can come back and ask for their money only if the bankruptcy judgement was without prejudice meaning that the court has essentially given your creditors permission to pursue getting their money after the bankruptcy has been discharged. It might take them years to come after you again (the length of the bankruptcy) but it's legal depending on your bankrupcy order.
You're absolute best bet is to contact a bankrupcy attorney and bring your original bankruptcy paperwork and court order. Depending on the laws of your state, if you don't acknowledge someone attempting to get a debt from you, you run the risk of them getting a garnishment on your wages.
But don't answer them yourself!!!! Let an attorney do it for you!!!!I received a call from a recovery service for a debt in 1987. It was dismissed in a 1990 bankruptcy?Any Advice
This is probably one of two things; fraud or a mistake.
Theres a huge market right now for bad debt resales, wherein you can buy say $1000 dollars of years past, retired debt for a buck or two, and its up to you to see if theres a way to still collect on it. Someone may have accidently listed an old debt in a file they sold one of the collection companies that buy up this bad debt, and you should be able to get it cleared up by asking them to send you info showing it as current debt, You might have to be able to send them info showing it as cleared up by the bankrupcy, but be careful not to send them personal info like you Social number and such.
It could also be a deliberate scam. Something like 25% of money collected by collection companies now adays is debt that isn't even valid but the dead beat collection companies have found out that tonnes of people will just pay anyways when someone calls just to get them off their back because they don't want their credit ruined and can't be bothered to fight back or double check. Again, they have to be able to provide you with info proving the debt is real and current, and when you question them about it they should back down eventually. You'll probably have to just be real when you're talking to the person who's calling to harrass you, and let them know you know they're trying to scam you, and you're not goign to answer the phone anymore, but eventually they'll give up on it.
I'm not sure of the laws in the States (or where you live) but in Canada it's actually illegal for them to contact you after your bankruptcy has been finalized. Call the people you used to file and ask them what you can do about this. Usually they will handle it for you.
You should dig out your bankruptcy folder and make sure that they were listed. If so, all you have to do is tell them to get lost and do not call you again.
What has happened is an old debt has been sold to another company (probably for pennies on the dollar). Your debt has already been dismissed by the original company.
Do not contact them or acknowledge the debt in any way!!!!
It is not the original company, and despite any threats or comments they cannot hurt your credit.
If you acknowledge the debt, even to tell them it was dismissed, it reactivates it in many states.
Just ignore it, you didnt make the debt with the current company.
Have you lawyer contact them or fax them proof.
Consult a bankruptcy attorney. That will be the best advice. Other than that, I feel fairly confident in saying that the statute of limitations has run out on that debt. Without further detail, I could not say for certain, but I do believe you can forget about it. Also, if it was successfully included in that bankruptcy, it is doubtful that they have any grounds to try and collect.

call your city about permit and/or licenses required. Also, call your state too. Sit down and write down what tools and equipment you will need for this business and what they will cost to buy, you will need insurance, car, business licenses and/or permits, corporation or llc formation, and advertising costs.
Print up some professional business cards and flyers (you can get them done at office depot) and hand them out to local businesses, First I would start out with mom and pop businesses and then expand to others businesses. Also, you can join the local chambers of commerce.
Goto barned and nobel bookstore and read up on some good starting a business books. They are a very good source of info.

I have cell service with Nextel, unlimited plan for $99, thinking about switching to T-mobile, any advice?
NO NO NO. NEXTEL is a far better carrier than T-Mobile. NEXTEL is one of the fastest growing providers on the market. If I had an option of cell phone carriers, I would have chosen NEXTEL. Consider Cingular if you truly want to change. I recommend sticking with NEXTEL though. --ALSO-- NEXTEL is a better service provider than T-Mobile, they reach more areas than almost anyone.I have cell service with Nextel, unlimited plan for $99, thinking about switching to T-mobile, any advice?
First of all, Sprint bought them out %26amp; if you want to change, it'll cost you the following: $175 to teminate the contract %26amp; $36 to activate the new phone with T-Mobile. $175.00 + 36.00 = $211.00 %26amp; that's BEFORE buying the phone. My question is do you think it's worth it? My mom tried 2 do the same thing %26amp; my math was 3 * $175 + 3 * $36 = $211 * 3 = $633, not including phones.

Any tips or advice for a new food service employee?
I just got a new job at a cafe in a Marriott Hotel. I've had one restaurant job in the past and all I can remember from the experience was stress and chaos. Constantly worrying about messing up an order, dropping a tray, or anything else embarrassing that might happen in front of customers and coworkers.
My first day is in two days and it's all I've been thinking about. I was asking for any advice that might help make the first day go a little more smoothly so that I can find my groove a bit sooner to feel more comfortable. The reason I liked my last job so much is because I felt like it was my ';territory';. I'm hoping to get that confidence quickly at this new job.
Thanks for reading!Any tips or advice for a new food service employee?
After one week you will lose your fears of dropping trays and messing up orders.
Find a type of tray which is comfortable for you. Avoid some of those small ';bar trays'; when delivering beer in bottles. They always tip.
Write down all orders. Even the tiniest things. Then you will never forget.
Ask the other staff to help you and to give you shortcuts. You can even take small presents to the ones who help you the most.
Go back to all tables often to make sure they don't need anything. Keep the water glasses full. Never set down a glass while holding the rim of the glass with your fingers.Any tips or advice for a new food service employee?
It helps to just overwhelm the customer with happiness. Make sure the cutomers feel welcome and important. Make sure if you ever DO make a mistake that you apologize greatly and just make them feel like they are the most important person that you've had all day. As far as messing up orders, you'll get used to working the floor and practice will make you better :) Don't give up!
Don't even start to care about your job, because you will only be dissapointed.
From a manager's perspective, I would advise you to come in clean cut and shaven, and do your best to learn everything you can on the menu and the specials BEFORE you arrive for your first day. This impresses managers more than you may think. Always be courteous and make sure you do your best on the job (in regards to the messing up the orders thing). And don't get too worried about messing things up, mistakes happen, and worrying about it too much can actually lead to more accidents. Hope this helps

I need some advice on my resume any suggestion as to whom is a good service to review and advise a job seeker?
Your answer will depend on the amount of money you plan to spend. I've seen the price range from $20 up to $2,000. It all depends on the service, the resume, the salary range of the job you aspire to ........ My uncle is a retired Colonel in the Air Force. He spend THOUSANDS on his resume package.
See - it isn't even HALF the battle to get your resume done. With Word Processing and other technology, many applicants are tailoring resumes to each job description/company they apply for.
PLUS - the cover letter now takes on more of roll than it ever did. The necessity for a stellar cover letter drives the price for a resume package even higher.I need some advice on my resume any suggestion as to whom is a good service to review and advise a job seeker?

I need advice on starting a moving service?
Ok, I want to know what you all think about starting a moving company.I thought it would be a good company and as i think back i really needed a affordable moving service a while back and could not find one(which means i had to get random people and pay them to help me move, which is not really good if u have valuable things).Im thinking of starting one with affordable prices but still quality service what do you all think? Is this a good move financialIy? also thought of starting an apartment rental agency.I thought to myself, what does everyone need?A place to live.So i added these two choices in my mind. Please give your input, thanks!I need advice on starting a moving service?
Starting a moving company requires not only a business structure (sole proprietorship, corporation, etc) but also the appropriate licenses and insurance. You may need to have a truck in order to get the insurance for it.
You will need to consider if you want to do interstate moves (across state lines), intrastate moves (moving within the same state), or both. You will likely need a different license for each one.
Before making a decision, you will want to do plenty of research and see if there are any other similar moving companies in your area.

Any advice for starting a cleaning service?
As a veteran bartender (going on 12 years), I'm just about at my burn-out point, so, I've decided to hang up my bottle opener for good and start a nice, quiet, small business.
I've been thinking (for a couple of months now) about starting my own cleaning service, but before I decide to quit my job, and go out buying a ton of cleaning supplies, I'd like some advice on how to proceed with this. Any tips, comments, and suggestions are most welcomed! Please!
P.S. -- I've seen alot of different rates, but, what does the average cleaner make?Any advice for starting a cleaning service?
A cleaning business-whether residential or office-is a terrific way to have a stable income. And you're smart to investigate before you try and get clients! You can do this! Why don't you start by quizzing some of your bar clients that are small business owners as to who they use, what they pay, etc.
Here's some beginning steps:
1. Check with your city or county clerk's office to see if you need a business license or fictitious name license. These are inexpensive ($25-$50) and usually last 3 or more years;
2. Then, call around to insurance companies and compare prices for liability insurance (sometimes called bond). This protects you if something breaks or gets damaged while you're on the job. And, yes, sometimes you didn't do it, but with this you can keep a client! AND, when you can say to potential clients, ';I have liability insurance'; it not only makes you professional, but adds confidence. It shouldn't cost more than around $100-$300/yr for $100K coverage (you don't need more than that for now);
3. Call existing cleaning companies, pretend to be a potential customer, to find out the going rates and services provided;
4. NOW, make a nice flyer and/or introductory letter about your service and start knockin' on doors, so to speak! Dress nice, maybe have a t-shirt made up with your company name and/or logo at Cafepress.com, too. Think about magnetic signs and/or a vinyl wrap for your vehicle. Think about parking your vehicle in areas where you wish to find business and in high traffic locations-street intersections, parking lots, etc;
5. And there's an inexpnsive business cleaning kit (less than that for a residential cleaning kit!) that will give you the basic contracts, forms for estimates, pricing charts and book-keeping, intro letters, supply list and resources, customer leads and other valuable tips. It will save you time and money in the long run!
This is a general start. There is lots of information available for you below......
Any advice for starting a cleaning service?
My wife does this and she charges $15.00 an hour here in N.C.
I would have some flyers made up with your picture on them, go to a well off neighborhood if you see some teenage kids in front of a house visit the parents and ask them if you could pay their child to put the flyers out in that neighborhood.
If you get a couple of houses to clean and you do a good job those people will tell others and you can stop with the flyers.
Is a hard job but very good in money.
Do a comprehensive business plan with market research and benchmarking if any 'comps' are available.
You didn't mention where you are, so the Yahoo crowd doesn't know which niche market you're hoping to serve. I have an old school buddy who does light janitorial, window cleaning, and upholstery cleaning in Calistoga, California. He's well established and earns around 60K per year. He limits his liability by offering only specific services..
Someone who cleans rental condominiums in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, or Destin, Florida might earn a comparable salary, if he or she launders the towels and bedding. Liability insurance and proof of coverage is required.

My friend is dismissed she work for over 25 year service and had illnessed advice me please?
Hi friends, my friend work for 25 years in NHS, she is been dismissed, she had lot of sicknesses but they were getting better. But what I want to get advice is can the people who sack her look at her illness record for past 5 years does it still count? Or should they only look at the last year of absence and not beyond that? please help we are from russia and not speak good englishMy friend is dismissed she work for over 25 year service and had illnessed advice me please?
Ask for a letter asking for the reason she was dismissed. I have a really good friend who works for the NHS. He has had a lot of time off work due to having a twisted gut. The surgery to fix this (which was botched and he is considering suing) has caused multiple problems; firstly MRSA, then adhesion's, which occur with every surgery.
Due to this he is often in severe pain, and has had a lot of time off work. He saw an occupational therapist and the hospital he is at has not considered dismissing him.
It depends on why your friend was off sick... if it was for numerous colds etc they may think your friend was pulling a fast one. But even then they have procedures... they would have to give a verbal warning and then two written warnings.
If your friend had a sick note form the doctor they couldn't touch her; if the illness became a problem to her work she could be pensioned off.
If your friend was sacked with immediate effect, and without having written notices then it would be for gross misconduct, and your friend would have no come back.
Ask for a letter form her employer, then contact ACAS.My friend is dismissed she work for over 25 year service and had illnessed advice me please?
I thought you had to be really bad to get fired from the NHS, Did they perceive her as not being sick? Was she missing too much time?
They look at what they want to!

Any advice on cheap online phone service?
I need a cheap/free phone service, online based, that can offer voicemail to my international customers. I mostly need to look legit, and while I will be listening to potential message I dont foresee a high use of it.
Therefore I dont want to waste money.
I use skype for personal use and dont want to use it for business, checked out voxox, evoice, simplyvoicebox, etc..
I know google voice is coming soon but who knwos when..
Any advice?Any advice on cheap online phone service?
It sounds like you need a VoIP service that provides DID (direct inbound dialling) phone numbers with Voice Mail.
There are some VoIP services that you can subscribe to and get a phone number (DID) with Voice Mail. Then have your incoming calls forwarded to your home or cell, or go directly to Voice mail. Voicemail copies can then be forwarded as an attachment to your email address. CallCentric is one VoIP carrier that provides these features - and you can do it without using any VoIP equipment. They provide this service for as little as $1.95/month for incoming calls + 1.5垄/min usage. Voicemail is free. Forwarding your incoming calls to your home or cell is only 1.98垄/min. It is strictly pay-as-you-go - no contracts, no extra charges, no nonsense service.Any advice on cheap online phone service?
The biggest thing to consider is where most of your calls are going to, or coming from if you were say getting an 800 number.
We use InPhonex at our office and we have a good relationship with them, but there are a lot of providers out there. Here is a link that lists several with a little information that you could use as a place to start some comparisons. You'll be interested in the ones in the right column for being able to receive calls from landlines. I hope you can find some useful information here.

I bought a ';New'; doublewide trailer and the service team is not doing what they promised, I need advice please
They were late on everything they promised. Everything they promised in 2 weeks is now done in 3 months. They left all their trash from the trimming they put in, trash from the A/C they put in, said it was my responsibility to dispose of (forgot to tell me that when purchasing the the home) Now I've got the axles and tires all over my lawn that they have not picked up. The home was delivered middle of July. Is that my ';job'; to get rid of, if so I can make some money, money to pay for disposal of the ';trash'; they left. I'm so sick of this whole ordeal. They were so nice until they got the sale. Now it's costing me much more money than what I was told.Do I have any rights....By the way this place is Sue White Homes, please do not do business with them, they are a rip offI bought a ';New'; doublewide trailer and the service team is not doing what they promised, I need advice please

US Postal Service Parcel Post Please give me advice?
i bought an autograph of miley cyrus from a seller from ebay
but it has been 3 weeks i still receive nothing
in MD
the seller said he would tried to track it down
and keep in touch with me and once the item return to him
he will resend it to me
he use US Postal Service Parcel Post service
is it possible for me to get my item back ?
Please give me your suggestion cause i don`t know what should i do next
thanksUS Postal Service Parcel Post Please give me advice?
Ask the seller for the air-bill / shipment number and the date shipped, then you can check yourself. There is a chance that you might have been scammed so go into ebay to check on this seller. Parcel post doesn't have any guaranteed delivery time, it is not a priority item for the post office and, if the zip code is incorrect, there could be long delays.US Postal Service Parcel Post Please give me advice?
they are giving you the run around. I sell on ebay as well. if you paid with paypal, just file a claim saying you dident recieve it yet. That way if worse comes to worse, the steps are already taken to get your money back if it comes down to it after 30 days if you dont have it, you can get your money back no questions asked
get your money back. tell ebay of the situation. next time send it priority mail insured...

You are thinking of Genetic Counselling.
Here is a blurb from the National Society of Genetic Counselors: ';Genetic counselors work as members of a health care team, providing information and support to families who have members with birth defects or genetic disorders and to families who may be at risk for a variety of inherited conditions. They identify families at risk, investigate the problem present in the family, interpret information about the disorder, analyze inheritance patterns and risks of recurrence and review available options with the family';What do you call this clinical service that advices couples of their probable risk?

It's commonly known in the medical field as a geneticist. You will find the more available at teaching/university hospitals. A social worker who specializes in working in the medical field can also help you find one.

Any advice re problems with poor service from website providing clean break agreements. They refuse me refund
I paid 60 for a clean break divorce agreement from a online web site as we wanted a simple 50/50 split of all our assets in the majority of cases and a few other major things to be kept by one or other parties. I spent a long time filling in the questionnaire which was very unclear as to how it should be filled in, with no examples provided.
It was returned very quickly but was full of errors and omissions and they were very unhelpful.
I have now decided to go to a solicitor as they did not cover the points I made. They refused a refund - stating 'All transactions of this type are exempt
under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000.
Therefore, ALL FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE '
So this was a complete waste of time. Has any one had a similar experience as I feel this is a an easy way for them to make money. Any advice welcome on whether I have any rights ?Any advice re problems with poor service from website providing clean break agreements. They refuse me refund

Im starting a maid with a twist service in the uk! sexy maids! advice needed.?
What do you think of the idea? is it illegal?? where can I find out the legalities? what security measures should I put in place? I was thinking of sending 2 maids at a time, with mobiles. I would really appreciate any advice on this! thank you xIm starting a maid with a twist service in the uk! sexy maids! advice needed.?
First, you want to think about safety of the maids. You don't want to send them to a home where they will be in danger. These maids you are sending out will be sexy, so I hope that you understand that you will be getting calls from men (or women) who want to see a sexy maid, and not get their house cleaned.
As far as finding out the legality of service, I suggest you visit a place like City Hall (we call it City Hall in America, you might use a different term) to find out if this is legal. When I say City Hall, I mean a place in your town where people go to get marriage licenses, their name changed, etc. Or, you can visit the court house in your town.
As far as security measures, mobile phones are good idea. I also agree that sending more than one at a time is good, too. However, suppose they come into a home where there are three to four men who can easily over power both maids? I don't think it would go too well with your town if the maids carried weapons such as guns, knives, or etc. They could carry pepper spray or something of the like, but that is just too much of a hassle. You want your maids to enjoy their work, not stress over it because they feel unsafe.
I would be careful because this could be mistaken as an escort or prostitute service. I am not trying to put a damper on your dreams, but you have to think about all of the different sides before you decide if this is something you really want to do. This is very risky.

You can always run the installation cd... Shown there are the steps to set it up... Juz make sure that the DSL light is solid green. And you can always call AT%26amp;T tech support, we're open 24/7! 1 877 722 3755Any advice? I am getting att dsl service- the modem is coming monday,?
If you're only going to have one computer connected, the modem should come with everything you need. Also, the instructions should walk you right through the setup procedure - just follow along and you shouldn't have any trouble.
The only potential wrinkle is if you're going to have more than one computer using the connection, you need to get the extra hardware (switch or router) and network cables on your own. But you can always just set up one computer for now, and connect the other one later when you have the rest of the equipment. Hope that helps!

The only potential wrinkle is if you're going to have more than one computer using the connection, you need to get the extra hardware (switch or router) and network cables on your own. But you can always just set up one computer for now, and connect the other one later when you have the rest of the equipment. Hope that helps!
it comes with an installation cd rom that walks you through the setup step by step

Advertise all you can and hope someone calls you is all you can do.
Go talk to them and ask their requirements. You are definitely at the right age for babysitting....even if they claim their business to the government, you can still work at your age as long as you have a work permit from school. I would just ask them about it. And good luck to you...its rare that kids your age want to work at all when mommy and daddy provide everything. You show responsibility, and for that you should be proud of yourself. And follow some of the advice below....advertise by posting flyers in the grocery stores, put them in people's front doors (avoid the mailbox cuz thats a federal offense).
Get some colored paper and make posters, be competitive something like, EAGER TO WIN YOUR TRUST, REFERENCES AVAILABLE, COMPETITIVE RATE, how about WILL READ AND HELP WITH NUMBER, TUTORING AVAILABLE! Pass these out, in the mall's and neighboring stores check to see if you have to have a solicitors license if its in malls, otherwise, go door to door, church, kindergarten and day care center. Look at the stores, there not afraid of competition. use your head and shoe leather. Good Luck, go get em!!!!!

Internet Service for One Month- Need Advice!!!?
I'm renting an apartment for a summer class at my college. Utilities *don't* include internet- and that will hurt!
I'm wondering if I can just get an internet service plan for one month cheap, or some kind of inexpensive satellite plan? I'm just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for an inexpensive way to get internet on my laptop for about 4 weeks!Internet Service for One Month- Need Advice!!!?
If you have a laptop with a wireless card you could probably pick up a signal from one of your neighbors and use that.

Skipped 30k... Need advice on 50k Miles Service? what should i get done?
Hi,
My family owns 2004 Honda Accord (I4). I have to get this car maintenance done. its at 50k right now, and didn't get any service done at all other than 15k and oil change every 3k miles.
I dont think I should change timing belt / water pump at the moment since it is honda... The only thing I was told to change by my friends was just transmission fluid. (don't really know how much this should cost neither).
I went to Honda Dealership, and they gave me an estimate of $400. I dont have that kind of money at the moment... I would like to save $$. What has to be done? and what can I do by myself? and how much should they cost?
THANKS MUCHSkipped 30k... Need advice on 50k Miles Service? what should i get done?
change spark plugs/wires
air filter
fuel filter
rotate tires-suppose to do that every 6k
coolant flush, if youve never done that
and change cabin air filter-if you have one
you dont need to do the timing belt or waterpump
those dont go out till around 100-120k
i would change the tranny fluid
most people dont-but if you want the car to last over 150k, i would change itSkipped 30k... Need advice on 50k Miles Service? what should i get done?
your car manual has a service interval schedule in it fallow it. changing a timing belt on a honda. very important to fallow the schedule. if it brakes valve damage usually fallows (big big bucks). honda is usually an interference engine.i know it cost money, timing belt and water pump always first on list. that schedule will help you prepare for whats next so that you can save the money and know if you can wait on a repair.

Need Some Advice Regarding Poor Customer Service and ABH attack..?
Ok where do I start... I purchase this lead from a well known electrical store . The lead was faulty and it states on back of receipt u can return it within 28days and get refund which we were trying to achieve. As the lead was out of the box she refered to this young guy next to her on the phone on hold who said rudely ';u aint gettin no refund'; and turned his back. My husband was in middle of explaining to him so tapped him on the back with a box( he was still on hold). But he just turned round and mumbled something - so my husband tapped him agian with the box to get his attention as wanted an explanation why he couldnt get a refund and his reason for asking for one. Sales guy then turned round and said to my husband ';wait till you get outside';. Well anyway my husband was annoyed and said okay he will have an exchange if not refund so he picked up box and went outside as he went outside this sales guy grabbed him by his scarf stranggling him. My husband tried to push him but theNeed Some Advice Regarding Poor Customer Service and ABH attack..?
I suppose punching a customer in the face and strangling them is pretty poor customer service.
It does not look like the police want to get involved.
You have the option of making a formal request they do so and complaining to the Police Ombudsman if they do not, or taking civil action.
You can take a civil claim for assault (it's a tort) against the salesperson and his employer.
Damages would be limited to those for the injury sustained - there's no penal element.
If the injuries were minor, get a GP report and issue the claim yourself (local county court, they have the forms) limiting damages to 拢1,000.
That way, it's a small claim and there are no adverse costs consequences if you lose.Need Some Advice Regarding Poor Customer Service and ABH attack..?
go for the throat, this is actual bodily harm, your husband may be an absolute prat for tapping the salesman with the box,but did no damage. You can insist that the police make a case, they were trying to fob you off and this is normal in these cases.Your husband may also be proceeded against by the salesman ,as was pointed out,but no injury was intended or sustained ,making it a common assault. The salesman,on the other hand faces much more severe charges.HAVING SAID ALL THIS,IF YOUR HUSBAND TAPPED ME WITH A BOX ,I WOULD FLATTEN HIM.He could look on this as a lesson learned and let it go,but the salesman certainly needs teaching some manners,i would not have treated you this way, patience is a virtue.
Technically in law your Husband assaulted this salesman twice by ';tapping'; him with the box. As you were not present in the store you don't know what happened or what was said, all you can say is, you saw what happened outside. I have always found staff very helpful when I have returned goods, so this all seems a bit odd. Write to the Chief Executive of the company if you feel so strongly, or let the Police sort it out.
Goodness, I thought service in shops was getting bad as most of the time they act as if they're insulted they have to serve you, but none has hit me yet. I suppose tapping the assistant probably annoyed him a lot though. The shop assistant could have called the police if you husband was hitting him with a box and your husband could have been banned from the store, but he didn't take the correct route so they are both at fault.

I want to buy a piano in Sydney, can anyone give me a good advice? i really hope a good price and service..?
if you have bought one in some music store before and you were rather satisfied, tell me the shop name and address please.I want to buy a piano in Sydney, can anyone give me a good advice? i really hope a good price and service..?
Even though I am not familiar with piano stores in Sydney, the following discussion may prove helpful in your selection of pianos either to rent or purchase.
If you are merely a casual pianist or taking a course in piano instruction, perhaps consider ';renting'; a piano rather than tying up your money in a lump sum purchase.
Nevertheless, if you are prepared to purchase a piano, here are some recommendations:
1) New or used full uprights: Yamaha U2-U3 series; Kawai uprights. Avoid Young Chiang since their piano actions are not very good.
2) New or used grand pianos: Yamaha C [Conservatory] series because the piano actions are far superior than the Renner or accelerated actions found in Steinways, Bosendorfers, Fazoli, etc. [sp?]
3) New or used Chinese built uprights and grand pianos: their cabinetry work is outstanding as well as the workmanship and assembly. Where these pianos fail is the poor quality of spruce used in soundboards which results in a very soft and muted bass and middle range. European and Japanese piano makers have a major advantage over Chinese piano makers because of their ownership or lease of major Alpine and Alaskian spruce forests from which they can harvest the very best quality spruce to bond into soundboards.
Good luck!

Legal advice about a bartering service not provided..?
about 2-3 months ago I posted an ad online that stated - get a free car if you fix my broken car. I would provide a person with mechanical skills a free Nissan car that works if they fix my Saturn. As expected, a lot of people answered the ad but I choose one man who came over for an hour, tried to charge the battery but got no where. He was an older man who is unemployed and I was happy make a trade with him. We talked while he worked and he said he couldn't get hired anywhere (although by the looks of him, it didn't look like he tried very hard) but then at the end of the hour he popped his shoulder in the car and left. He said that his shoulder does that from time to time and he would have to take care of it. We tried to make arrangements to meet again but things didn't work and my Saturn never got fixed. Then, I lost my job, my other car broke down and we got a huge bill and we were considering selling the Saturn to make up for the debts. When I told him that he wrote me a letter stating that I should pay him for the time he couldn't work because of his injured shoulder and the time he worked on the car. I fully believe that I should pay him maybe 20-30 dollars for the hour for the labor even though he only sat around charging the battery and looked at the car; but paying him for the time he couldn't work because he admitted that no one would hire him is ridiculous to me. So my question is, am I legally bound to pay for that time after the car that he couldn't get a job? (even though he admitted it was a previous injury) and is 20-30 dollars enough to pay for the hour that he sat around my house and charged the battery? Legal advice about a bartering service not provided..?
You have no legal obligation to pay him anything at all. If he had fixed the car and you failed to give him the reward car as per ad, he'd have a claim against you. As it stands, unless there was a term in which you agreed to remunerate at a certain rate all those who simply made an effort to repair the car, you're free and clear.

Advice for a Secret Service career?
I am an 18 year old senior in high school and I have always been interested in a career in law enforcement. I have decided to set my goals on the Secret Service. I have been Home Schooled for most of my life, with the exception of my freshman year of high school having been at public school. My plans for college are to go to community college for my freshman and sophomore year to get my prerequisites out of the way (the CC in my area is ranked 2nd in the nation) and then to transfer to a four year school to finish out my last two years with a law enforcement degree. I have been swimming year round on a USA swim team for the past 3 years (seasons last from September through July 30) in this time I have earned several A and AA times in my events. I plan to keep up my swimming career through the two years that I will be attending community college.
Does anyone have any advice for me as to what I should major in in college? I am an average to above average student, and I would like to go in to the Emergency Response Team of the Uniformed Officer Division. I have looked at the requirements on the SS website and it says that all I need to qualify at the entry level is a high school diploma. But I figured that I should be better prepared than that which is why I would like to major in some sort of Criminal Justice. So if anyone has any advice for me I would greatly Appreciate it.
I also plan to swim with the college swim team once I transfer to a four year school.Advice for a Secret Service career?
Skip the Law Enforcement Degree.
The Secret Service doesn't care what your degree is in, as long as it's from a good school.
You might major in Accounting or finance, as they investigate financial crimes. New agents aren't put protecting people right away.back blackheads

YOU STOLE MY CUSTOMER SERVICE/CALL CENTRE JOBShow an interest in the customer Offer extra advice, Let the customer explain the problem, Understand, service?
it's a good philosophy
yes its one of the cornerstones of good customer service
listen to what your customer is saying, they may not fully articulate what they want, why they want to buy a product. if you understand what the customer wants you may understand what is motivating the purchase and you can then providse information to help the customer make a reasoned choice.
if you show interest in a customer, beyond how can I make a sale, then its likely that they will make a purchase from you.
But you must listen and understand and make suggestions which meet the customers requirements not your sales targets. After all its the customer that lives with the product not you. by all means point out other products which meet the customers requirements and even provide additional capabilites which the customer isnt aware of, but dont patronise or talk down to the customer. they can decide where they spend there money and if they feel you are not meeting their needs they can go elsewhere
many years ago I decide to buy something from Comet, a spotty youth asked if he could help, Id read the display cards could see little to differentiate the product and thought what the heck ask the salesguy to explain the differences. he promptly read the cards in front of the devices (which I had alredy done at length), didn't even read them thoroughly and advised the most expensive for no reason. my response quick exit to somewhere where they had product knowledge.
Service yes, understand no.

I need a little advice, Small socail club, being bullied by the prison service over sales and more need advice
I am the chairman of a small prison officers social club %26amp; function hall which has been running for around 30 years. aprox 8 years ago, Prison service HQ said we must operate on our own, with no assistance from them at all, 3 years ago HQ told us we could not sell alcohol during the core day 0745-1730 only soft drinks, because of the services alcohol policy, which we abide by ';although I believe it to be an illegal act, I know not where to check';. Now they are saying they wish to take the Func hall for another use. we pay no rates (never been asked), or fuel bills (as they wont or cant give us an exact usage bill) we pay all other bills and licences tho, the hall is and always has been our main source of income and losing it will cause loss of more trade and then close the business, we are a non profit club and have no money to go to court with. what can we do, help me please as I am at a loss, and I'm no interlectual.I need a little advice, Small socail club, being bullied by the prison service over sales and more need advice
It sounds as if this is a tenant issue. The prison, somehow, owns the building which the social club utilizes. It comes down to the facts that the owner can give reasonable notice and then expect to evict (or change) the use of their building.
That you have been functioning happily for such a long time would tend to make me think there is a moral obligation but I do not see the point for a legal one.
I agree with you about not bothering with court for another reason than the little money you have. At court, really no one wins. I wonder if there is a way for mediation. As another suggestion, contact a local civil official like a representative or something, someone who might speak or write a letter on your behalf.
That you do service for prison officers is noble and if you can suggest that a local community official act on your behalf may be the way to go.I need a little advice, Small socail club, being bullied by the prison service over sales and more need advice
Of course you have money to go to court with, it is called each officer donate a certain amoungt of money, 100 officers each give 200 dollars you got 20,000 dollars a great way to start paying an attorney.
Your question has brought several questions to my mind, which I hope you will be able to explore further and will help you resolve your issue.
First, I know very little about British property law beyond what I studied in law school as far as how Common Law relates to current US property law.
However, the first question that I can think of is, is this a case of adverse possession? Second, under what terms does the social club use the hall?
Perhaps there won't be much you can do, but I hope you will seek the advise of a barrister or solicitor that can answer your question.

Advice please! I need customer service help!?
I started to work as a bank teller. All I say is How are you? What can I help you? in nice way with smile, and many customers like me.
But I want to be able to keep a conversation like other tellers.
Any good websites? tips? How should I start conversation?
Have any of you improved their conversation skill through customer service job before??? Any opinion is helpful. Thank you!Advice please! I need customer service help!?
First off, it takes time. You need to first start to remember some of your customers. It really helps. Then, ask how there day has been. Let the conversation lead from there. Don't let it bother you that you don't know a lot of them yet. You will start remembering faces and being able to put names with them faces. Then you will start remembering thing. Like, if they come in with there kids one week and not the next ask how the kids are. Little things like that start good conversations. Advice please! I need customer service help!?

Advice on high-level matchmaking service for very successful gentlemen?
Hi, I'm considering to use one of the high-level matchmaking services
for successful / rich men. (me - New York city, 35, working in Hedge
Fund, Austrian, not accustomed to dating game in NYC)
I have scouted the internet and found some servies, all of which are
mentioned in an answer thread for a lady here on Google
(http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=118961). I'm located
in new York City.
I'd like to
1) Have advice on finding the right service
2) Find true testimonials / meet prior clients to learn about their experience
3) Learn realistic expectations (ie is this a scam, etc
4) What is the incentive for woman to join? Are they simply after
money or for a good life-long aprtnership?
5) What is the incentive of the company to deliver good service after
I paid all the fee (which is upfrong)? Seems to me very low
6) What alternatives should someone like me consider (walking into
exlcuisve night club and hitting on next gooAdvice on high-level matchmaking service for very successful gentlemen?
1) Have advice on finding the right service
The most important thing is finding a service that meets YOUR needs.
What are you looking for exactly? Make yourself a list of the qualities that matter to you in a service.
Some examples are:
24-7 availability to look at matches on your own time (internet), or
would you rather do it with a consultant of the service?
Are looks more important than personality, or vice versa? Do you want
a service that will focus on a personality match, or that markets
based on looks, then personality?
Do you want a service that only has women in your area, or across the
county, state, and/or country?
Does their clientele match up with your target demographic? If you are
looking for a woman in her 30?瞑? what is their average age of a woman
looking for a man? If it is 18 or 50, you are not going to have a lot
of opportunity. How many members in your demographic are there?
Do you want somewhere that sets up your date, or you can set your own?
Do you want them to help with contact between both of you, or would
you like to contact them yourself? Do you want anonymity or not?? (Do
you want them to give out your name/number to matches or not)
Maker a list of what is important to you, your definite needs,
?畀攁ybes,??and things you are indifferent about, and take them with you
to see if the company matches your needs and wants.
2) Find true testimonials / meet prior clients to learn about their experience.
Most websites that offer a service that you?瞑俥 looking for, such as
the ones you mentioned looking at from the other question here on GA,
will (and SHOULD) let you see real life testimonials and have
references. I believe any business that charges that amounts these
companies mentioned should make customer service and satisfaction a
number one priority and give you that way to be SURE that they?瞑俥
going to be able to offer what they say they can, which is a
successful match.
Since I am sure higher profile people who use these services like to
remain anonymous (for example, on the web they would not want names
and contact info published), I am sure that thru the service, some
would be willing to come forward and talk to you or offer references.
If they cannot give you that, I would not use the service. If this is
an important piece of the puzzle, then do not give it up. If they
cannot offer it, it is not the right service for you.
3) Learn realistic expectations (i.e. is this a scam, etc)
Not everyone is going to find the ?畀梕rfect??person through a dating
site or matchmaker. No matter how many claims are made that they can,
it is just not possible to please 100% of the people 100% of the time,
which means there is a chance you will not find what you were hoping
for. It is unreasonable to make a claim like that, and anyone who says
they can guarantee a match is lying, as the saying says???町祇thing is
guaranteed except death and taxes,??right?
Therefore, no matter how good the credentials of a company, you cannot
be assured everlasting love with someone. Keep a realistic expectation
in mind not only of the service they are offering, but what you can
also expect. A company like the ones mentioned may increase your odds
better than the bar scene, but nothing is 100%.
I would also recommend checking out each company through your local
Better Business Bureau. Listed below is the location of the New York

Really worried and on-call service not answering...advice needed urgent please?
I don't even know what to do. I don't want to go to the ER if they are just going to send me home. I have called my drs office SIX times. The answering service is not picking up. I have had these terrible pains all week and the dr said its just nerves. Well I have been throwing up and having diarrhea and its just getting worse. I don't know what to do. Do you think this is an urgent matter? What should I do? I called my regular drs 2 and they are also closed for the holiday. Please help. Thanks
Im 27w1dReally worried and on-call service not answering...advice needed urgent please?
Sister that is classic gallbladder. My pain was so bad I thought I was having a heart attack or something. My pain was bad below my right boob and went straight to my back. Believe me I know how painful that is but I don't know what they can do for you because your pregnant. The nausea goes along with the gallbladder not to mention the diarrhea.
Good luck sweetie just watch what you eat.Really worried and on-call service not answering...advice needed urgent please?
I'm sorry hun, but I would definitely go to the ER just to be on the safe side. What kind of pains are they? Like period cramps that feel like contractions? Because those accompanied by diarrhea is a sign of pre-term labor. But it could also be your sciatic nerve or any number of harmless things. Go get yourself checked out. *hugs* I hope everything is ok!
Is there an Urgent Care clinic, or could you just show up at your own clinic and ask to be seen? You should be able to do one of these things. I don't think this warrants an ER visit if you can do either one of those things. If you can't be seen in Urgent Care clinic or at your reg. clinic, then yes, I would go to the ER.
Do you have a fever? I'd say you'd probably have better luck at an urgent care center (plus, the wait will be a lot shorter, too!) If they can't help you, they'll refer you to the ER. Unless you're having some horrible symptoms (vomiting bile or blood, dehydrating from the diarrhea, sky high fever, etc.) I'd bypass the ER and go to urgent care.
Since you have diarrhea and are throwing up, I'd go to the hospital. They may send you home. However, you can easily get dehydrated and while not a problem for the average person, could become a problem for a pregnant woman.
Go to Labor and Delivery. You will get a faster, more specialized result and answer.
What kind of pains are you having? Cramping or sharp?
It is very possible that you are getting dehydrated and you may need fluids.
Go to the ER and tell them your really worried, they wont send you away unless there 100% sure you and the baby are okay.
Don't panic its not good for the child, get yourself to the ER.
if your gut tells you it is urgent, than go to the ER. I rather it be nothing than it be something and I didn't do anything about it and hurt my unborn child.
Please PLEASE go to the ER!
You may just have a virus OR you may be preparing for labor, which is something you MUST stop at this point.
Keep me updated!! I'll keep you and Mia in my thoughts!
I would just go to the E.R dear. Really. What would you tell me to do if something like this came up? Good luck and please let me know when you find out what's up!
wow drs closed is pathetic the holiday isnt until tomarrow. id say go to the er.
if they send you home they send you home, but what if its serious. better safe than sorry
I would go to the ER or to something like a Prompt Care if you have those around you. But if your doctor isn't answering I would go somewhere.
Why would you not go to the ER. I'm sure that they would help you. That's probably what i would do in those circumstances
Rush to the ER, that sounds really serious.

What Happened to Service and Product Advice?
I'm looking to buy either a Meade ETX125 or a Celestron Nexstar 6';. I contacted 2 online vendors, both presumably large, and neither one offered any advice as to which is better for photographing galaxies and which would be more reliable in the long run. One said nothing of consequence and the other said I should speak with someone in an astronomy club or online group. It would appear that both are order takers and have little expertise when it comes to the products they are flogging. At least that's what I gathered. Can anyone give me some advice on which of the 2 scopes is better for deep space photography and planetary viewing? Thanks in advance. LarryWhat Happened to Service and Product Advice?
You're making a serious mistake in making deep space astrophotography a requirement for a beginner's telescope purchase. Astrophotography is by far the most difficult and expensive area of amateur astronomy, and is something best left until after you get some experience in visual observing with a basic telescope.
Here are a few web pages with good information on beginner's telescopes:
http://www.gaherty.ca/tme/TME0702_Buying鈥?/a>
http://www.scopereviews.com/begin.html
http://observers.org/beginner/j.r.f.begi鈥?/a>
For more advanced information, read Phil Harrington's Star Ware, 4th edition (Wiley).
You'll get the greatest value for your money with a Newtonian reflector on a Dobsonian mount, such as these:
http://www.telescope.com/control/categor鈥?/a>
http://www.skywatchertelescope.net/swtin鈥?/a>
Buy from a store which specializes in telescopes and astronomy, either locally or online; don't buy from department stores, discount stores or eBay as mostly what they sell is junk. A local astronomy store is a far more reliable source of buying information than any large online dealer; they have the time to answer your questions. Find your local astronomy club and try out different telescopes at one of their star parties:
http://www.skyandtelescope.com/community鈥?/a>
The two scopes you mention are both totally unsuitable for deep space photography because their mounts are only suitable for visual observing (despite what the ads might say). The NexStar 6 is about the smallest aperture which can be used for serious planetary observing, though I'd recommend an 8'; or 10'; myself.
[Edit] David B.: ';I prefer the ETX125. Apperture is always ';King';. The larger the diameter, the better.'; Uh, David, last time I looked at a ruler, 6'; was larger than 125mm. I own a NexStar 6 myself, and it is well and solidly made, almost all solid metal. The ETX125 is mostly plastic. I'll take the NexStar any day: bigger aperture, better quality construction. What Happened to Service and Product Advice?
Neither one will do for photographing galaxies. To do that you need long exposure photography where the camera shutter is open for many minutes or even hours at a time and the telescope must track the object across the sky perfectly all during the exposure. Those telescopes *can* track OK, but since there are both altaz mounted, there will be field rotation, meaning the object in the field of view appears to turn as the telescope tracks it across the sky. That would smear the image. To do long exposure photography requires an equatorial mount which can track without introducing field rotation, a really good camera, a lot of skill, and plenty of patience and perseverance. Although you may be able to get an equatorial wedge accessory to turn these altaz telescopes into equatorial telescopes, it is not a good place for beginners to start. And visually viewing galaxies is usually massively disappointing for beginners too, because they look like dim, colorless, featureless blobs to your eye. It takes the long exposure photograph to bring out the detail and color, even in much larger telescopes.
I would not recommend either telescope as they are too small for planets, other than Jupiter, Saturn and certainly too small for galaxies and are no good AT ALL for astrophotography. Your budget is obviously not enough if you are thinking of getting one of these toys. Even beginners in astrophotography usually spend between US$5,000-10,000 on the very basic equipment of Mount, Telescope and Camera equipment in that order. The mounts on those 2 are not up to it.
The only advice I can give you is join your local club and find out a LOT more about telescopes before deciding what to buy. If you want to do astrophotography with a DSLR get Michael Covingtons book on the subject. Its for beginners like you.
Either scope is good. I prefer the ETX125. Apperture is always ';King';. The larger the diameter, the better. Are you hoping to take pics through the eyepiece, or do you plan on investing in astrophotography equipment?
Service? Product advise? Today's customer service is totally lacking. Nobody seems to want to learn their product enough to help potential customers.
