Community Service Project!!!! NEED ADVICE/OPINIONS/IDEAS!?

At my school my group and I have to do a community service project. Only one group per organization. Everything we thought of has already been used, so I did some research and came across my local make a wish foundation. I have contacted them to see what we could do. I was thinking if we did fundraising, we could try to get people to donate at least $1. I even thought of a catch phrase! ';Donate $1, help make a wish come true!'; What do you think??? Any ideas, opinions, or even ideas on fundraising would be greatly appreciated!!!Community Service Project!!!! NEED ADVICE/OPINIONS/IDEAS!?
';your dollar is worth a million to a child';Community Service Project!!!! NEED ADVICE/OPINIONS/IDEAS!?
Fundraising is a real nice gesture, but with so many agencies, organizations, and associations registered to be capable to obtain funds by community support, the competition will be immense.

So to help, one has to ask,

what have you to offer that noone else has ever thought of?

How far am i will willing to go (how much effort to put in) to get and effective result?

How much time do i have to finish the project and how much time do i have to offer?

One thing that i have never seen before is having some sick kids, registered with make a wish foundation, or even if they are not, make some stuff that can be auctioned of with their photos.

All proceeds that are obtained then can be donated.

To add more impact for success, have it organized at a children's hospital in the foyer, because the people that are in the hospital have sick kids to visit, it might mean so much to those people that someone can do something different and help a cause at the same time, also could give a child the feeling that they did something special too.

You might get 50 cents, or a dollar for a drawing a child has done, you can also have a donations tin on the side for people who is willing to donate without bidding. It can be a fun filled little event that could take off once a year or so. Some cordial refreshments for the people there, if u know someone that can face paint, you could charge a donation to have someones face painted. There are many ideas, to do things, but there is also a lot of red tape to get through to do it.

How about contact the make a wish foundation again, propose this, have them help you set this up and assist in the promotion for it, fundraise under thier name with thier acceptance and approval, that way it is legal, you can get a good venue, and have people registered who can help set this up and legally too.

Once completed, you can have an appriciation/acceptance letter from the make a wish foundation signed stating what you organised and participated in and how much was raised that day. Give a photo copy to your teacher, not only will it be a personal achievement for you, but it might be a beginning of a benchmark for something new in the future.

-=$1 dollar be worth a smile to a child, but whats a wish come true worth=-

I wish you luck in all this, i might have read too much in to it. I am studying community services, which is how i came across this, and i have a tendency to read further than i need to. The way i was thinking, if you involve the make a wish foundation, they could help you create, not just a one off thing, but a ongoing event for the future, you may help so much this once, but your idea may help others continue a an idea that you started.
