I will be leaving the U.S. Military in < 8 Months with 20 yrs of service. Any employment advice?

Any advice that anyone can provide concerning employment upon completion of my military service will be greatly appreciated!

2000-Present Legalman





1987-2000 Aviation Maintenance Administration





2004 - Bachelor's Degree (Liberal Arts with a focus in Law %26amp; Paralegal)





Supplemental or Past Employment:





1980-2002 - Room Service (Holiday Inn)

Consider becoming a probation officer.





I had a friend who became a drug and alcohol counselor for the county. Very lucrative.

Your question has many directions. Perhaps you could narrow down the areas you want the MOST help with?





Are you looking for a new field? A company? A place to live with the most jobs?





Do you want a trade? A small business? A sales job?

What do you want to do?
Why? enjoy your retirement...
First make sure if you have any thing that happened to you while in documented, just a heads up, you may get some disability and you wont have to pay tax on that portion. Plus if you have any thing that may get worse with time, make sure its in your record. 30% is good, check the VA booklet out.


As far as jobs go, you may want to try something new other than Legal, heck you did that long enough...What are some fun things you enjoy doing, there may be a job in that....

First off Thanks for your 20 years,


Next I had a Big shock when I got out of how much crying and stupid thing do and get away with at work. Also there are a lot of people with out right crappy commutation skills, at time i can spend half the day nailing down bad information and try to figure out what the heck some people are saying.





One last thing if you been to the Beach party give your self some time, and know when to take a walk.
